Currently, I am working on “La Presa” (2025-2026) a project delving into displacement, family bounds, and materiality. Consisting in a multichannel sound-video installation, I follow the construction of new water infrastructure in my hometown (Durango, MX). The visceral transformation of the land –heavy machinery in operation, workers breaking into the mountains, piles of broken equipment and excavated land– as well as a search for understanding, are at the core of my research. The music for the installation is being made in collaboration with the Oslo-based composer Luis Fernando Amaya.

That project is deeply personal. In 1958, my grandmother’s family was displaced by the construction of a dam in that region. Now, my brother–who works as a civil engineer–oversees this new development, reopening wounds and resurfacing tensions that were flooded under the dam decades ago.

This year, I am also building a walking path in Jessheim, my first public-art commission in Norway; and coordinating “V Festival: we are still here" with Verdensrommet  –a mutual support network for non-EU/EEA artists in Norway– in the frame of its 5th anniversary.

In a changing panorama for the arts, education, and immigration globally, V Festival will encourage new imaginations of the future of artists, mutual exchange, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Held from November 24-30, 2025, it will feature talks, exhibitions, performances, and satellite events across Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, and Tromsø, in collaboration with multiple art institutions.
